Islamic Scholar, Author and Translator
Among the many well-known writers in the Muslim community of the coastal region, Ismail Naeemi Mangalapete is also one of them. His full name is Muhammad Ismail Raza Naeemi. He was born on Friday, April 27, 1984, at Surathkal Idya in Dakshina Kannada district. His father was the late Abbas and his mother was the late Nafeesa.
He completed his primary religious education at Mangalapete Muhyiddin Madrasa and his secular education at the Government Higher Primary School in Mangalapete.
His prominent religious teachers include N. M. Abdurrahman Baqavi Chemberike, H. I. Yusuf Saqafi Kundapur Kodi, Mufti Ayyub Khan Naeemi Muradabad, Abdul Hakam Ahsani Poonjalakatte, Muhammad Al Qasimi Alake Majalu, and Jamaluddin Saqafi Perwad. He earned the 'Raza' degree from Manzarul Islam in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and the Naeemi degree from Jamia Naeemiyyah in Muradabad.
Having served for a long time as editor of the Al Ansar weekly and Mailanji monthly magazine, he has contributed a total of twenty-three works to Kannada literature, including six works translated from Arabic and Urdu languages.
He is serving as the Principal of Darussalam Institution in Hoode, Udupi.
Currently residing in Mangalapete, Surathkal, Mangalore.
